Each Memorial Day, we gather as a nation to pause, reflect, and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States of America. It is a sacred day of remembrance dedicated to those who never returned home, those who gave their lives so future generations could live in freedom.

For members of American Legion Wisconsin Post 464, Memorial Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a solemn reminder of the courage, duty, and selflessness displayed by generations of American servicemembers. Across our communities and throughout the country, veterans, families, friends, and neighbors come together to pay tribute through ceremonies, parades, moments of silence, and the placing of flags at the graves of fallen heroes.

As we remember the fallen, we also recognize the families who carry their legacy forward. Gold Star families, fellow veterans, and loved ones continue to bear the weight of sacrifice long after the battlefield grows quiet. Their strength and resilience deserve our deepest gratitude and support.

American Legion Wisconsin Post 464 remains committed to preserving the memory of those who served and strengthening the spirit of patriotism and community in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. From supporting fellow veterans to participating in local events and community outreach, our members proudly continue the mission of service established by the American Legion more than a century ago.

This Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Attend a local ceremony, fly the American Flag proudly, visit a Veterans Memorial or Cemetery, or simply Pause in Silence to remember those who gave everything for our country.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

On behalf of American Legion Wisconsin Post 464, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have served and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

God Bless Our Fallen Heroes, Their Families, and the United States of America.
